Watch Russian wind tunnel champion, Polish 16yo athlete do mind-blowing dances mid-air (VIDEO)

While the Olympics are known to produce awe inspiring moments, they could certainly use the addition of thrilling visual displays on offer at the Wind Games. The performance of the champion of this aspiring “sport,” Russia’s Leo Volkov, will simply blow your mind.

Now in its third year, the event was organized by Spanish-based Windoor, an indoor skydiving and wind tunnel company staging the competition at their headquarters in the northeast of the country, in the Catalan municipality of Empuriabrava.

Competitors performed gravity-defying dance routines within a glass tunnel, which has four turbines producing a constant stream of vertical air.

One athlete who caught the attention of the judges was 16-year-old Maja Kuczynska from Poland. Dancing to Sia’s Chandelier, the teen can be seen doing the splits in midair as well as a number of spins and tumbles.

This year’s champion, however, was Leo Volkov from St. Petersburg, Russia. Volkov’s highly choreographed routine involved numerous songs and saw him effortlessly perform some mesmerizing ballerina style moves.

As though not spectacular enough, SkyDiveMag reports that due to a technical fault, Volkov performed without actually being able to hear his music. Talk about not being able to dance to a beat.
