‘Show remorse’: Russian MP suggests Obama give Nobel to Libya children

Commenting on Barack Obama’s statement about mistakes committed during 2011 campaign in Libya, Russian MP Aleksey Pushkov said the US leader could partially make up for them by giving his Nobel Peace Prize to Libyan children.

If Obama is sincere about his remorse and wants to redeem the situation he should abandon his Nobel Peace Prize and give it to Libyan children,” Pushkov tweeted.

The comment came soon after Obama told Fox News that failing to plan for the aftermath of the US-led military intervention in Libya was the worst mistake during his eight years in the White House.

This was not the first time Pushkov criticized the Nobel Committee for choosing Obama as the laureate for the 2009 Peace Prize. In 2011, the MP told a news conference that in his opinion the US leader deserved a "Nobel Prize of War" instead of the award he got.

In 2014, Pushkov commented on the Democrats’ failure in the 2014 midterms by tweeting that “Obama has turned from president of hope into president of despair.”
