Porn and bestiality: Moral relativism embraces it all

Porn and bestiality: Moral relativism embraces it all

Whereas in Orwell’s vision sex was a crime against the State, in Huxley’s future any type of sexual discipline was itself immoral. Yet Huxley’s depiction of moral turpitude is tame next to what is tolerated today.

Last week I compared our experience of technology with Orwell’s prognostications in 1984. This week owes more to that other dystopian monument: Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World.

In the West, the old system was based, more or less, on the Ten Commandments. As the state of Oklahoma demonstrated last year, these have been revoked.

We are being herded by our masters from one sheep pen to another. What follows is a sampling of where we are in the process of steering the masses into the gate of the new cult.

Goldman Sachs refuses to hire Japanese porn star

We learned from the UK’s Independent this week that “Goldman Sachs has taken back a job offer from a graduate after discovering she had worked in porn.”

The article continues: “A woman using the name Shizuka Minamoto had an informal offer of work withdrawn after Goldman Sachs discovered that she had not been truthful about her past during the interview process.”

But Goldman Sachs’ code of ethics does not specifically list participation in lewd sex acts for money with DVD distribution as grounds for not hiring a prospective.

So what gives? Concern that her past might prove embarrassing or a liability downstream? She was applying for a job with a company which makes money off keeping whole countries in servitude, not trying to get a Hentai foot in the door as Mother Teresa’s PA.

Professionals at Goldman Sachs do not simply perform lewd and degrading acts for money – they entice their victims to engage in such acts with them and then ruin their economies for them once they take the bait.

The article continues “Minamoto is reported to have starred in a porn film called Lost Virgin in 2011 and several other films during her first and second years of university.

She featured as a bathhouse attendant, a member of a group of three lesbians and a schoolgirl in a gym suit in three other films, according to the Tokyo Reporter.”

And Minamoto’s not just a pretty face. We learn that “Many of the DVDs reportedly noted Minamoto’s high intelligence, with one claiming on its cover that she has an IQ of 130.”

So let’s look at the facts: She lied at interview – or was less than fully forthcoming with the truth. But what’s the context? She was going for a job on Wall Street. They do say that if you want to get a job you should proceed as if you have it.

And Minamoto is pretty; she’s highly intelligent; she has a history of proven initiative, an impressive work ethic and indefatigable attachment to her clients; she worked her way through university; she can multi-task; she has a record of achievement in a variety of roles and documented proof that she puts no limit on the term team player. What is there not to like?

I would argue that Ms. Minamoto’s background brazenly screwing complete strangers for money without regard for scruple or consequence should have guaranteed her a place at Goldman Sachs.

True, the Goldman Sachs code of ‘ethics’ does stipulate that an offer can be withdrawn if a candidate is found not to have been transparent during the interview process. But that all comes down to what your definition of the term is, and given the Lloyd Blankfein definition of transparency, it seems a great loss to the company that Minamoto’s potential was not properly recognized and developed.

Removing the tongue from my cheek, I can get to my main point: Nowhere either in Goldman Sachs’ actions or in the article which reports them do we find any suggestion that Minamoto’s background in pornography merits condemnation on moral grounds. The implication is, rather, that she should have been smarter about not being found out if she was planning on working for a major corporation later on – more especially if she really does have an IQ of 130. There seems no other possible conclusion in the context of a company which has been instrumental in collapsing the economy of Greece and whose non-executive chairman openly calls for mass immigration into a continent in which he does not live.

The media colludes with, and drives, the abdication of objective standards. In the fantasy world it helps create – one in which rag-to-slags stories tend to be shown to end well – it assumes sexual license an implicit right.

If Minamoto only read the Daily Mail, she would realize that if she sticks to porn she will start pulling down the big money quicker than she could have done by doing her bit to reduce to Third World levels the living standards of people she’s never met.

Bestiality ruled not illegal in Canada

Now for more edifying news which illustrates how much better off we all are under moral relativism, unshackled from primitive ideas like right and wrong or objective responsibility.

Since we learned to recognize a society in which the heterosexual family is the norm as the oppressive and unconscionable bigotry it is, the future has been clear: humanity on a blissful ski-lift journey into increasing heights of happy, huggy, beauteous appreciation of diversity.

In this Brave New World, if you choose to identify as a dog – or perhaps have a dog which currently identifies as a dog – and feel oppressed by the laws in your country which deny expression of man-dog love, then you might want to sample the recent human-rights achievements in Canada.

Canada’s Supreme Court has ruled that most bestiality is legal. The Independent reports that “Sex acts with animals are legal in Canada, so long as there is no penetration involved, according to a surprise ruling issued by the Supreme Court.”

Canada joins Finland, Germany, Hungary, and certain states of the US where sexual acts with animals are acceptable by law.

True, Germany and Hungary require that the animal not be forced. But then, Fido can’t make a statement at the police station if he gets all huffy after the fact and decides to sue you for coercion as a way of making you pay for not taking him to the park.

An article by Reuters provides the following context: “Canada's bestiality law only bans sexual acts that involve penetration, the country's Supreme Court ruled on Thursday, a blow to advocacy groups who argued animals should be afforded the same protection from exploitation that humans are given.

Supreme Court judges ruled 6-1 in favor of a man from British Columbia in western Canada convicted for sexual assault and bestiality after he involved the family dog in the abuse of his two stepdaughters.”

A bill that in part seeks to define bestiality as all inter-species sexual activity is before lawmakers, but it is still in its early stages.

Camille Labchuk, executive director of the Animal Justice group, an animal rights group which was allowed to intervene in the case, urged parliament to pass the legislation quickly.

"People who sexually abuse animals are sometimes linked to sexually abusing children as well, as the accused did in this case," she said. "That's a really good reason parliament needs to act."”

While Labchuk initially seems – and is – a refreshing voice of reality in what is otherwise a disgusting sewer of filth, the fact is that she is pushing for the legislation not because having a mind which regards Fido as anything other than a friend and companion – one which needs feeding twice a day and a jolly good walk – is unimaginably depraved and merits outright condemnation, but because it might adversely affect the dog; i.e. no harm – no foul.

Nothing new

A society which has lost appreciation of the past is unable to comprehend the present. The sexual depravities of the ancient world – from the Temples of Khajuraho to Babylon, Greece, and thence to Rome’s Villa Jovis, Pompeii, and the celebration of the Bacchanalia – were a function of their respective idolatrous cults.

These cults are simply being rehashed, upgraded and served up to us in new, accessible formats. This time around they come with a garnish of political correctness and egalitarianism and are condensed into a philosophy the size of a mint confectionary, one so simple someone with no memory at all can suck it and seem to understand: Yolo.

As this process continues, those who refuse the upgrades will be vilified, legislated against, and persecuted.

Like those earlier idolatrous cults, this rehashed and updated cult will turn on dissenters; and like them it will do so with vicious cruelty – because, historically, that’s what idolatrous cults have done.

And under the new regime morality will require more than moralizing. It will require an act of rebellion.
