‘World’s largest sex & swinger community’ hacked, 412mn accounts exposed

‘World’s largest sex & swinger community’ hacked, 412mn accounts exposed

Online dating, sex and entertainment company Friend Finder Network has been hacked, exposing the account information of more than 412 million users in one of the largest breaches ever recorded.

The hack includes 339 million accounts from Adult Friend Finder, “the world’s largest sex and swinger community,” including 15 million deleted accounts that remained on the company’s database.

The hack also contained information associated with 62 million accounts from Cams.com, a live sex chat webcam site, as well as several million from Penthouse.com, which was sold by Friend Finder Network earlier this year.

According to Leaked Source, more than 5000 US government email addresses (.gov) were found in the leak, along with 78,301 military (.mil) addresses.

The hack contained two decades worth of data and it is unknown who is responsible for the breach, which Leaked Source says took place in October.

The company was hacked last year with 4 million accounts exposed, revealing users’ sexual preferences, such as whether they were seeking extramarital affairs.

According to ZDNet, this hack doesn’t appear to contain such details, but does reveal names, email addresses, whether a user paid for items on the sites, and passwords.

Friend Finder Networks would not confirm the breach, telling ZDNet that it had "received a number of reports regarding potential security vulnerabilities from a variety of sources."

"While a number of these claims proved to be false extortion attempts, we did identify and fix a vulnerability that was related to the ability to access source code through an injection vulnerability.”

It added that an investigation is under way and customers would be updated.
