Attack of the blob: Foam floods Northern CA neighborhood

Attack of the blob: Foam floods Northern CA neighborhood

A malfunction at a hangar at the San Jose airport has resulted in a flood of flame retardant foam flooding neighborhoods around the airport. While the fluffy white piles may look a lot like Christmas, the chemicals in the foam can be an irritant.

The piles of foam flooding Santa Clara, California are a rare sight. It isn’t often that Californians get to see their streets covered in fluffy white piles so some residents have responded with delight with others are emboldened to try to play in the flame retardant, which is not recommended.

In fact, the foam is really only the result of a faulty fire alarm in the San Jose airport, WABC reported. However, potential health risks do little to sway the appeal of getting up close and personal with the blobs and sharing it on social media.
