Hurricane force winds batter Newfoundland, rip off rooftops & damage vehicles (PHOTOS)
Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador have been assessing storm damage after “extreme winds” ripped roofs off buildings and totaled vehicles in the Canadian province.
Canada’s most eastern province was hit by a brutal bout of weather on Saturday, with winds reaching speeds of up to 180 kilometres (112 miles) per hour at the storm’s peak.
The harsh weather conditions were caused by a band of “intense” low pressure, according to Environment Canada.
