Soft power: Global pillow fight takes over NYC & other cities across the world (VIDEOS, PHOTOS)

The annual international pillow fight has played out in New York and other cities across the world affording participants a unique and somewhat tempting opportunity to bash a couple of strangers on the street and get away with it.

The thrilling, yet quite safe event took place at Washington Square Park in New York on April, 1, attracting hundreds of grown-up people apparently willing to blow off some steam and act like a kid for a change.

“Pillows fly and teddies soar as you converge for a giant urban pillow fight! Swing and whack as you evade pillow-wielding assailants. Bring a soft pillow and wait for the signal. Pillow fight!” says an invitation to the fight posted on Facebook.
