OSCE weighs into Georgian spy plane row

The row between Russia and Georgia over spy plane flights is moving to the OSCE. The organisation will hear arguments from both countries about who’s responsible.

Tensions rose after Georgia claimed a Russian fighter jet shot down one of its drones on April 20.

Russia denies the allegations. Russian officials say Georgia's reconnaissance flights over Abkhazia breach the ceasefire deal that ended Georgian-Abkhazian hostilities in the early 1990s.

Last week, a UN report confirmed the Georgian drone was shot down by a Russian aircraft. However, Moscow dismissed the report as based on unreliable evidence.
