Saudi Arabia invites US firms to take part in civilian nuclear program – minister

Saudi Arabia has invited US firms to take part in developing its civilian nuclear power program, Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said on Monday. The country is not interested in any way in diverting nuclear technology to military use, Reuters quoted the minister as saying. Al-Falih was speaking after meeting with US Energy Secretary Rick Perry, who said it would be premature to make statements about agreements with Saudi Arabia on nuclear cooperation.
