Slovenian magazine apologizes to Melania Trump over ‘high-end escort’ article

Slovenia’s Suzy women’s magazine has apologized to US First Lady Melania Trump for suggesting that she had worked as a high-end escort while pursuing her international modeling career, AP reported. The magazine said on Friday that it had published an article in August 2016, in which it claimed that Trump had worked for a fashion agency in the past, which also offered an “elite escort” service. The publishers said the article “was understood as if Melania Trump conducted the escort job,” adding that they “have no proof for that.” The magazine said: “So we apologize. We had no intention to hurt and offend Mrs Trump.” The US first lady has filed a libel lawsuit against the magazine through her Slovenian lawyer.
