Former S. Korean President Park to spend additional 8yrs in jail – court
Former South Korean President Park Geun-hye, who had been sentenced to 24 years in prison for corruption, has now been sentenced to another eight years. On Friday, a Seoul court found the former South Korean leader guilty of illegally taking funds from the state spy agency and interfering in elections, according to Yonhap. The charges add six and two years correspondingly. Prosecutors had sought 15 years. Park was not present at the hearing, as she has been boycotting all her trials.
