Germany’s export, investment guarantees for firms doing business with Iran to continue – ministry

Germany will continue to offer export and investment guarantees for companies doing business with Iran, the Economy Ministry said on Monday. “Export guarantees and investment guarantees from the Federal Ministry of Economics are still available to companies,” it said. Berlin also remains in dialogue with the United States on exemptions for German companies from Iran sanctions, the ministry added. French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said in July that Washington had rejected a French request for waivers for its companies operating in Iran, Reuters reported. The Trump administration has said more than 50 foreign companies have ceased business with Iran since the US announced it was withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
