Nigeria’s star striker Ahmed Musa has received a hero’s reception from fans upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia where he will line out for local club Al-Nassr FC.

The Super Eagles star signed a four-year-deal with the Saudi Arabian team following his underwhelming two-year stay in Leicester City. Thousands of fans flocked to the King Khalid International Airport in the capital Riyadh to welcome their new football idol when he arrived on Friday.

The former CSKA Moscow forward was impressed by the “amazing reception” from the fans who greeted him with deafening chants of “Musa, Musa!”

“What an amazing reception here in Saudi Arabia. I want to thank each and every person who came out and welcomed me at the airport,” Musa wrote on Twitter, while also posting a video of his special arrival.

“I am really humbled. I can feel the excitement and energy already, I am looking forward to this historic opportunity!” he added.

Musa played for his national team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, scoring twice in the group-stage match against Iceland where he helped Nigeria to secure a 2-0 win.
