‘Stone cold loser’: Trump lashes out at London Mayor Sadiq Khan as Air Force One lands in UK

‘Stone cold loser’: Trump lashes out at London Mayor Sadiq Khan as Air Force One lands in UK

The US president started calling the London mayor names even before his plane landed in the UK, where he has arrived for a state visit. Trump described Sadiq Khan as “a stone cold loser” who has done a “terrible job.”

In his tweets, Donald Trump likened Khan to NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, saying London’s head is “as dumb” but “only half his height.”

The insult comes shortly after Khan called Trump “just one of the most egregious examples of a growing global threat” and compared the US president’s actions to that of “fascists of the 20th century.” In a Guardian op-ed Khan also criticized the special treatment prepared for Trump in the UK, calling the lavish state visit “un-British.”

Donald Trump and Sadiq Khan have a history of verbal feuds. It started in 2016 when Trump was still a presidential candidate. Back then, Khan called Trump’s views on Islam “ignorant.” In response, Trump challenged the London mayor to an IQ test.

Last year, the US president also criticised Khan for doing “a very bad job on terrorism.” Trump claimed the mayor was “pathetic” over his handling of the 2017 London Bridge terror attack.

Trump is in the UK for a three-day visit. During the stay he will be given a full reception which irked Sadiq Khan. Trump will meet with Queen Elizabeth for lunch, have afternoon tea with Prince Charles, and attend a state banquet at Buckingham Palace. He will also meet outgoing British PM Theresa May as well as Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson.
