Three would-be terrorists seized in Germany

Three suspected Islamic militants have been arrested in Germany for allegedly plotting bomb attacks on U.S. facilities in the country.

Federal Prosecutor Monika Harms says the three, including one Turk, and two German converts to Islam, received their training in Pakistan.

It is also believed they procured around 700 kilos of hydrogen peroxide for making explosives.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel described the police actions as a great success.

“We know now that there is not only an abstract threat but a real threat. It is a great achievement of our police to prevent this real danger from turning into a terrible and indescribable incident,” she stressed.

German authorities are pointing a finger at the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, which the German group is believed to be an offshoot of.
