Russia and Ukraine want more NATO talks

Moscow and Kiev have agreed to hold further talks on Ukraine’s ambition to join NATO. The two countries' foreign ministers agreed to have more discussions after a meeting on Tuesday in Moscow.

The Russian Head of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, says Ukraine needs to understand concerns about NATO's eastward expansion – and that it's moving closer to Russia's borders.

But his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Ogryzko, repeated his reassurance that his country's desire to join the military alliance is not aimed against Russia.

Both ministers also discussed security in Europe, as well as long-term relations between the two countries.
