Interview with Margot Light

Dmitry Medvedev's reputation as more liberal than other possible candidates is a positive for the west, according to Professor Margot Light.

“He [Dmitry Medvedev] is much less well known than either of the other two potential candidates. Sergey Ivanov has been in the West many times. And I think that there is some anxiety about the foreign policy he might follow. We don't know much about Dmitry Medvedev's foreign policy, but he has this reputation of being a rather liberal compared to other contenders. Therefore, so far at any rate the reception of this candidacy has been very positive in the West,” Margot Light, Professor of the London School of Economics and Political Science, said.
