Interview with Viktor Mizin

The timing of Dmitry Medvedev's candidacy for president in 2008 surprised many in the political world.  Analyst Viktor Mizin from the Institute for Strategic Assessment joined RT for his take on the news.

“It's good news for many who think they are liberals and probably pro-liberal forces in Russia because this is the man of the future who could lead Russia into the next generation, probably industrial modernization, even industrial revolution, revolution of managers that Russia needs so much. As for his personal features and skills I think he is a cultured and polite man,” the expert said.

“I think it's a good message for Russia that the time of rough generals who could have been needed at the beginning of 1990s, in the rough times of fighting terrorism in the south of Russia is gone now and we are probably ushered in the new era of our development,” concluded he.
