How to take a selfie in space firsthand (VIDEO)

Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev has published his own take on how to snap selfies in zero-gravity – if any of us are lucky enough to get a job in space.

He filmed a video describing how to take your own snap aboard the International Space Station, and it’s simpler and more fun than you would have thought.

All one has to do is set a timer and send the camera floating freely through zero gravity. Next up – make a profound facial expression (after all, you’re in space), and you’re all set.

Oleg was one of the three cosmonauts and astronauts who in September returned home after spending nearly six months on the ISS. He was joined by Aleksandr Skvortsov and NASA astronaut Steven R. Swanson.

The Russian cosmonaut has his own comprehensive website on everything space-related. It includes not only news of the latest research, but also tons of videos, pictures and first-hand experiences detailing survival in space and every little detail that goes into living there for extended periods. It was also not too long ago that the Russian federal space agency, Roscosmos, got with it and opened its own Instagram account. The site currently boasts over 500 photos and 73,000 subscribers.
