‘Nuclear disarmament is a matter of security’

Russia does not want a new treaty on the reduction of nuclear weapons just for the sake of reduction, says Vladimir Batyuk from the Moscow-based Institute of US and Canada Studies.

Moscow does not reject the idea of nuclear disarmament. On the contrary, it wants an agreement that would guarantee stability and reduce the threat of nuclear conflict.
