Muscovites get into trim

Muscovites get into trim

FC Moscow has claimed their fourth consecutive victory as they beat Tom for the second time in four days.

FC Moscow 2-1 Tom

It was FC Moscow who knocked the Siberian team out of the Russian Cup back on Wednesday. The scenario was repeated four days on in the Premier League.

It was the visiting club with the opener 36 minutes in when a throw in by Andrey Ivanov turned into an assist and Sergey Kornilenko made it 1-0.

The hosts equalized a minute from the break off a corner. Tom keeper Sergey Pareyko blocked the first two shots, but couldn't stop Hector Bracamonte from making it 1-1.

And 15 minutes from time, Martin Yakubko capitalized on the defender's mistake.

FC Moscow is now within 2 points of leaders Krylya Sovetov.

CSKA 1-2 Rostov

Meanwhile, CSKA failed to pick up any points at Rostov, who had to come back from a goal down after Sergey Aldonin's shot took a deflection to fly past the keeper, 18 minutes in.

Three minutes before halftime, Igor Akinfeev faced a similar scenario at the other end after his defender changed the direction of Igor Lebedenko's drive.

And three minutes into the second half, CSKA found themselves under real pressure in the area as Dmitry Akimov's header hit the cross bar and Hong Yong Cho set the final score from the third attempt.

Spartak Nalchik 4-1 Amkar

Elsewhere, Spartak Nalchik crushed Amkar 4-1 – the first win of the Caucasian team in the season.

Kuban 1-0 Lokomotiv Moscow

In the final game of the day, Krasnodar side Kuban beat Lokomotiv Moscow 1-0 thanks to Khaminu Drahman’s late goal.
