Car bomb blast in Madrid

Car bomb blast in Madrid

At least four people have been injured by a car bomb explosion in a car park at International Airport in Spanish capital after an anonymous phone call warned of an attack.

Terminal four was immediately evacuated, and traffic around the airport was brought to a standstill.

Officials from the Emergency Ministry say they have reason to believe the attack was carried out by Basque separatist group ETA.

If so, it would bring to an end a nine-month-old ceasefire that had prompted hopes of a peaceful end to the conflict.
