Pentagon rejects journalists for “poor reporting” record

The embedded system for journalists, originally designed to facilitate their requests, is now used by the Pentagon for obstructing war correspondents with a “negative” coverage record.

Kevin Baron, reporter from Stars and Stripes, explains how the system works.

On Friday, the Pentagon admitted keeping profiles on journalists reporting from Afghanistan to deny those reporters considered negative access to American fighting units. Stars and Stripes was the first to break the news.
