Curtis ends six-year title-less drought

It has been the ultimate weekend on the greens for Ben Curtis, with the American winning the Texas Open - his first trophy in six years.

The 34-year-old's golfing future looks more secure now with over a million dollars added to his bank balance along with a two-year tour qualifying exemption.Curtis went from holding up the claret jug in 2003 to only being able to enter four PGA events this year.He would go on to roll in one of his three birdies in Texas on the seventh hole.Matt Every stayed in contention by sinking three birdies in a row with the final effort coming on the sixth.John Haugh though finished tied for second with Every as Curtis held his nerve to card a birdie on the final hole and get the much-needed win.
