Vladimir Putin expresses support to Arizona shooting victims

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has expressed his support to the US congresswoman and others wounded in a mass shooting in Arizona.

The Prime Minister was visiting Russia's Mission Control Centre, where he spoke to astronaut Scott Kelly, brother of Democrat Gabrielle Giffords’ husband, Mark Kelly. Scott Kelly is currently onboard the ISS.“I want to assure you that everyone in Russia sympathizes with the situation. I know that Mrs Gifford is the wife of your brother. He is also an astronaut who visited Moscow, just like you,” Vladimir Putin said. “We are very sorry about this, and hope that she will get well soon. We give our condolences to the families of those who were killed in this shooting,” he added.In turn, Scott Kelly thanked Vladimir Putin for his words of compassion and promised to pass along Putin's words to his brother.
