Ukranian MP dies in hospital

A member of the Ukrainian parliament who was fatally wounded while hunting, will be buried in Kharkov on Friday. 56-year-old Yevgeny Kushnaryov died in hospital on Wednesday, despite two operations.

Kushnaryov was one of the leaders of the Party of Regions and headed the faction's election campaign for Viktor Yanukovich, who's now Ukrainian Prime Minister. Mr Yanukovich cut short his visit to Turkey on Wednesday to return to Ukraine following the news.

The country's President, Viktor Yushchenko, and the Russian ambassador to Ukraine, Viktor Chernomyrdin, have expressed their deep condolences.
