Medvedev tries on first Sochi 2014 T-shirt

Dmitry Medvedev became the proud owner of the first t-shirt emblazoned with the new logo for the Sochi Olympics.

The Russian President has been meeting with the head of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, to discuss preparations for the 2014 Winter games.

Jacques Rogge was impressed with the new logo, believing it will get more youngsters interested in sport, AP news agency reports.

"I like it very much. I think it's very appealing, very creative and innovative and I think it will appeal especially to the young population, and you know that the IOC is doing all our best efforts to have young people going to sports, so I think it's really very creative, so I like it very much," he said.

The new logo for the Sochi 2014 Games was presented to the public by the organizers on Tuesday.

The new T-shirt is another addition to the wide collection of sporting uniforms the Russian president possesses, as he is used to greeting victorious Russian athletes in the Kremlin.

On various occasions, Dmitry Medvedev has been presented with T-shirts from the Russian national football team, UEFA Cup winners Zenit St Petersburg, Russia’s World Champion ice hockey team and many others.
