Historian: Russia-US tensions over nuclear reduction is inconceivable

Russian paranoia was never ready to accept the fact that the radar in Czech Republic and missiles in Poland were intended to be deployed against Iran, remarked Rupert Allason, a military historian and former British MP.

“We can only hope the threat to re-arm and start deploying new systems by Russia is only a part of the negotiating strategy, but ultimately reduction is in everybody’s interest, financially and strategically, that the number of warheads should be reduced and the number of delivery systems should be reduced,” he said.
