Subhuman for rights? Samuel Ramani, PhD candidate in international relations at Oxford University

As the Syrian war winds down, so does the moral grandstanding surrounding it. Having spent the last eight years denouncing Syria’s treatment of the rebels and their families, most Western powers are now eager to leave their own citizens in Syria, including the most vulnerable. Why are human rights so absent from discussions about the fate of ISIS fighters and, particularly, their children? To discuss this, Oksana is joined by Samuel Ramani, doctoral candidate in international relations at Oxford University.
