Americans battling to block healthcare bill

Time is ticking for the much-debated US healthcare bill to come into force, with the Senate trying to push it through by Christmas.

Meanwhile, critics claim the reforms are nothing but a stitch-up between the government and health insurers.

“When you see this bill get passed – and I think will be passed – it’s going to be a huge bump in Obama’s approval ratings,” American Prospect reporter Tim Fernholz told RT.
