Not in the pink: flamingo found freezing in Siberia
He tried to make it to warmer climates on a wing and a prayer – but found himself without food or shelter in the middle of wintry Russia.
The pink flamingo was discovered by local miners; he was so weak that they were able to pick it up and carry it to the nearest vet. The young bird had a broken wing and was clearly shaken up. But after a day at the vet’s, it clearly warmed to its surroundings, happily snacking on fish, bread and fresh carrots. The lone traveler was then moved to a Novosibirsk zoo, where it joined a flock of fellow flamingos.
