Putin checks Antonov-148 civilian short-haul jet
Russia's new short-haul civilian passenger aircraft, the Antonov 148, has been put on serial production. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the assembling facility in Central Russia on Monday.
The 80-seat jet is flown by two pilots. It is notable for its ability to land on low quality runways and being equipped with its own boarding ramp.
The Antonov-148 can cover up to 5000 kilometers at speed of 820-870 kilometers per hour.
Business-class modification of the jet can accommodate 10 passengers and fly up to 7000 kilometers without refueling.
