UN.org has malicious content – Russian search engine

Russia’s largest search engine, Yandex, has detected a harmful program on the United Nations’ official website after launching a built-in antivirus program on Monday.

The search engine returned the results for “un.org” with a standard warning: "This website might be a threat to your computer."

Yandex spokesman confirmed the discovery of potentially harmful content.

“According to our information, pages on the UN website contain harmful code. We have already notified the website's operator that a virus was detected on its pages,” Ochir Mandzhikov told RIA Novosti news agency.

He added that although the potentially harmful code is no longer active, there is a vulnerability in its security that can be taken advantage of again in future.
