Putin tries bobsled (VIDEO)

Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has lengthened the list of sports he has put his hand to. On Thursday he inspected a bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track in the Moscow region and couldn’t resist driving down in a bob.

The Paramonovo track will host the European Championships and the final World Cup stage next week. Ahead of it, Vladimir Putin came to make sure the track is ready for the major event. Accompanied by the Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko he examined the outdoor venue and then headed to watch the Russian national team members training. The Prime Minister drove off a two-seat bob piloted by Aleksey Shadeev, but ground to a halt metres from the finish line. The duo repeated their attempt and, lo and behold, managed to cover the full distance.“It was great! I recommend it,” Putin noted, describing his impressions after the finish.
