Palestinian children call on adults to lay down arms

Palestinian children call on adults to lay down arms

As fighting continues in Gaza despite a truce between Hamas and Fatah, children there have called for a halt to the violence. They covered themselves in red paint to represent the blood that has been shed so far.

Although the “Parliament of Children” is associated with Fatah – its members have called on both factions to lay down their arms.

More than 80 Palestinians have been killed in fighting since December, now many are afraid to leave their homes.

President Mahmoud Abbas is due to hold talks with Hamas chief, Khaled Mesahaal, in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, in an effort to re-start stalled talks on unity government.
